Although the last stretch of the Triund trek is steep, overall it’s an easy to moderate trek, ideal for people from all age groups. A steep ascent of more than 1,100 metres takes you on a refreshing walk through dense oak and rhododendron trees. It’s worth mentioning that with a Triund trek map, you can easily find several cafes on your way to the top. Snowline Cafe, Scenic View Cafe and Magic View Cafe are a few prominent ones.
The beautiful town of McLeodganj is just 9 km from the trek. It’s also called Little Lhasa. If you’re looking for peace and nature, McLeodganj allows you to experience Tibetan culture in its true form. From eateries and shops to monasteries and guesthouses, you’ll notice strong Tibetan influence everywhere.
