Moreover, you can indulge in a wide range of activities, such as paragliding, mountain biking, mountaineering, skiing etc.

In the last few years, many different kinds of camps have been set up in the region. Depending on your interests, you can choose from adventure camps, night camps, riverside camps and trekking camps. When you’re in Manali, you never fall short of thrilling experiences and scenic locales. If a trip to the mountains has been on your mind, be sure to include Manali camps in your itinerary.

Average Cost of Manali Camping Trip

For Manali camping, you can choose from several packages. The average cost depends on various factors, such as duration of the trip, season, inclusions etc. On average, a 1-night package costs somewhere between INR 1,500 to INR 2,000. Most packages include accommodation on double or triple-sharing basis, meals, adventure activities (rock climbing, valley crossing, rappelling, flying fox etc.) and guides.

While you can book a camping package, it’s also possible to plan the entire journey with an experienced team. If you’re travelling from Delhi or some other north Indian city, you need to consider the cost of transportation. Flights between New Delhi and Kullu Manali Airport cost around INR 5,000 per person for a round trip. However, you’ll have to book the flight atleast 3-4 weeks in advance to get this rate.

Travellers also prefer a train journey. However, a train will only take you to Joginder Nagar Railway Station. There’s no direct train between Delhi and Joginder Nagar. The cost of travel will be around INR 2,000 per person for a one-way journey. Thus, when you’re looking for Manali camps, it’s better to book the entire package with a reputed tour operator.

Most tour operators include a bus journey in the package. Buses are the most convenient and cheapest way to travel between Delhi and Manali. Volvo buses and tempo travellers are comfortable, and take several halts to make it more convenient for travellers. During the course of the journey, you’ll pass several mountain passes, small villages and scenic locations.

Important Tips to Plan Your Trip

For a Manali camping trip, a 3-4 day itinerary provides you with enough time to explore the region and cherish the experience. As mentioned earlier, it’s better to combine the camping trip with several adventure activities. It’s also possible to customize your itinerary as per your interests, number of travellers and other factors.

For a trip to Manali, you should pack light. Since you may indulge in trekking or hiking, you should wear sturdy shoes. During your stay, explore attractions like Old Manali, Rohtang Pass, Naggar Castle and Manu Temple. Manali has several cafes, and you shouldn’t miss Tibetan and local cuisine. Last but not the least, you should plan well in advance to avoid any unnecessary hurdles.
