Rohtang Pass Permit 2022
Rohtang Pass is getaway to Ladakh and Lahaul & Spiti Every year Tourist throng to Rohtang Pass every summer season. To get to Rohtang Pass you are required to take Rohtang Pass permit. As per the new regulations 600 Petrol and 400 Diesel vehicles allowed to go Rohtang Pass everyday. Rohtang Pass Permit can be obtained on first come first serve basis everyday including Sundays and holidays at Tourist Information Centre, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m but Rohtang Pass Permit can only be taken one day in advance.
Once you get the Rohtang pass permit then next day vehicles will be allowed to cross Gulaba Barrier from 6 AM to 12 noon only. At Gulaba other than Rohtang Permit you have to pay Rs 50 as congestion charges.
Rohtang Pass remains open from June to October and remain closed due to snow. Rohtang Pass connects the Kullu Valley to Lahaul & Spiti Valley and Ladakh. With in few years Rohtang Tunnel will be open which will bypass the Rohtang Pass. Rohtang Tunnel is a road tunnel being built under the Rohtang Pass from Solang Valley to Tandi in Lahaul connecting Manali Leh Highway.
Documents Required in Original for Rohtang Pass Permit
1. Valid ID Proof
2. Valid Pollution Under Check (PUC) Certificate
3. Vehicle Registration Date (Age of vehicle not to be more than 10 yrs)
Daily Permit Limit : (i) Petrol Vehicles = 800 (ii) Diesel Vehicles = 400
Rohtang Pass Permit Time
The Rohtang Pass Permit time is in two time frames one is from morning 10 AM in which permit is available for 200 Diesel and 400 Petrol Vehicles and second time slot is from 4PM for same number of vehicles.
(i) 10:00 hrs (200 Diesel and 400 Petrol) (ii) 16:00 hrs (200 Diesel and 400 Petrol)
In a week (Tuesday to Monday) only 3 permits can be obtained for each vehicle.
No Vehicles are allowed on TUESDAY as the day is marked for maintenance of Rohtang Pass. Permits can only be applied for next 6 days from the current date. Printout is compulsory for all permissions.

Rohtang Pass best time to visit is from June when it normally opens but it usually crowded and there is lot of demand for Rohtang Pass permit and the vehicle cost is very high this is the best time to visit Rohtang Pass. In June if you go to Rohtang Pass then on the both side you could see snow as high as 8 feet.
