With an altitude of more than 17000 ft., Lamkhaga Pass is one of the high altitude mountain passes in the Garhwal Himalayas. This pass links Sangla in Himachal Pradesh to Harsil in Uttarakhand. The Lamkhaga Pass Trek is one of the hardest treks in the remote regions of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The isolated trail is now said to be the definitive route from Kinnaur to Gangotri, which was first crossed by Marco Pallis in 1933. This trek will let you explore the remote areas of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand like never before.

Day 01: Drive from Shimla to Chitkul (245 KMS|8-9 hours|11269 feet)
Day 02: Chitkul – Nagasthi – Rani Kanda (10 KMS|5 hours|12139 feet)
Day 03: Acclimatization Day
Day 04: Rani Kanda – Dumti (15 KMS| 7-8 hours|13287 feet)
Day 05: Dumti – Gundar (15 KMS|7 hours|14432 feet)
Day 06: Gundar- Lamkhaga Pass Base Camp (12 KMS|6 hours|14599 feet)
Day 07: Lamkhaga Pass Base Camp – Base Camp II (6 KMS|5-6 hours|14599 feet)
Day 08: Base camp II – Lamkhaga Pass –Gangotri (16 KMS|6 hours|17335 feet)
Day 09: Gangotri – Kyarkoti (12532 feet)
Day 10: Kyarkoti – Harsil (7478 feet)
Reach Shimla on your own which is easily reachable from Delhi and Chandigarh. Upon reaching Shimla, we will take the transport to reach Chitkul on the same day through the Kufri and Narkanda route. At night, we have dinner and spend the night at Chitkul.
Chitkul is the last village of the Baspa Valley and it is one of the most beautiful places in the Kinnaur Valley. We will start our trek here alongside the Baspa River and reach there by evening and spend the night in the tents at Rani Kanda.
We will spend the day at Rani Kanda to familiarize ourselves to the high elevation. This is a high altitude trek and that’s why it is very important for us to get used to it. So we need to make sure that we keep ourselves hydrated, rest well and eat healthy and light food. Above 12000 ft., anyone can fall sick due to Acute Mountain Sickness.
Today we will start trekking through the gushing waterfalls and colorful meadows to reach Dumti. We will have dinner upon reaching and stay overnight in the tents at Dumti.
Today we trek up along the Baspa River to reach Gundar. After crossing a few gushing small streams we will reach our destination. Spend the night at Gundar in tents.
We will start early, as today is a tough and technical day depending on the snow conditions. The steep climb may require some technical gear, so follow the instructions of your trek leaders. Reach the Base Camp by evening and stay overnight.
We will start early today as it’s a steep climb to Base Camp 2 and it may take more time than expected. We will trek towards the next base camp which is in the Kinnaur Valley. We will spend the night in the tents.
We will start early for our final climb to the Lamkhaga Pass and cross the mountain pass. After spending some time at the Pass exploring, we will trek towards the base camps of Gangotri. We have reached Uttarakhand after crossing the Pass. The steep climb may require technical gear and professional support.
After crossing the glacier and few meadows we will descend to the base camp of Kyarkoti. Spend the night in the tents.
Our beautiful journey in the Himalayas concludes today as we reach Harsil through lush forest and streams.
