Spiti Valley Trek in Lahaul Spiti the largest district of Himachal Pradesh is a unique home stay trek. Brief Itinerary (Spiti Valley Trek)
Day 1: Drive from Kaza to Dhankar and trek to to Lalung Village Spiti (3800 Meters) 5 Hrs ( 1 hr drive & 4-5 hrs trek)
Day 2: Trek from Lalung to Demul ( 4200 meters 7 hrs)
Day 3. Trek from Demul to Komic Village Via Chemai Lepcha (4700 meters 6 hrs)
Day 4. Trek from Komic to Langza (4200 Meters 3 Hours)
Day 5. Drive from Langza to Kaza (2 hrs)
Our Spiti Valley trek begins with a short drive to Dhankar Monastery and then we start the Dhankar Lake Trek. Dhankar Spiti Valley is a small town situated at an altitude of 3880 Meters. Dhankar Monastery and Dhankar Fort overlooks the vast expanse of Spiti Valley and confluence of Pin River and Spiti River. Dhankar Lake trek is a little steep ascend from Dhankar Monastery and descend to Lalung Village which is situated at the base of famous color changing Tangmar Mountains. Lalung Village in Spiti literally means “Land Of Gods”. Enjoy an evening and spend time listing to the mesmerizing and mysterious folk lore of the village. We start the day after the sumptuous local breakfast of Spiti Valley. It will be strenuous day as you trek from Lalung to Demul you enter into Lingti Valley and then ascend towards Demul which is quite steep stretch. Today’s part of Spiti Valley trek takes you India’s remotest villages of lahaul spiti and lush green Demul village. Stay in a comfortable homestay and mingle with locals learn to cook local cuisine and live the way locals live. Dinner and Overnight in Demul
Today we will be reaching the highest point of our trek when we will be crossing the Chemai Lepcha Pass at 4700 meters. So initial part of todays Spiti Valley Trekking is ascend from Demul till pass and then descend to Komic Village. Komic Village is highest inhabited village in Asia. Reach at homestay at Komic village after lunch head out to visit Komic Monastery which is the highest monastery at an altitude.
Today will be relatively simple, as we descend towards Village Langza. Enroute visit Hikkim highest year round inhabited village and also Highest Post Office and Polling Booth in the world are situated here. Langza is also known as fossil village and well connected with road. The main attraction of the Langza village is million years old fossils and Langza Monastery or Lang Temple. On the last day of our Spiti Valley Trekking we start after having breakfast and drive down to Kibber village and Key Monastery. Kibber Village offers some beautiful views of the valley below and it also serve as the base for Kanamo Peak Trek. We further drive down to visit the largest Monastery complex Key Monastery. Key Monastery is over 1000 years old and situated at an altitude of 4166 meters. After that we head towards Kaza our final destination.
