The Tarsar Marsar Trek

 

The Tarsar Marsar Lake Trek in Kashmir encompasses a journey of two beautiful lakes surrounded by the peaks of the Kolahi Mountains. The twin lakes, which flow in opposite directions, are separated by a mountain and known for their almond shape. What makes this trek special is its breathtaking beauty and serenity.

DIFFICULTY : MODERATE.
MAX ALLTITUDE : 4100 METERS.
BASE CAMP : ARU VALLEY.
DURATION : 6 DAYS 5 NIGHTS.
BEST SEASON : AUG, SEP.
NIGHTS.

BEST SEASON: JUNE-MID NOVEMBER

Here’s a short itinerary of Tarsar Marsar Trek:

Day 1: Srinagar to Aru Valley ( 112 Kms drive).
Day 2: Aru Valley to Lidderwat ( 11 Kms trek ).
Day 3: Lidderwat Valley to Tarsar via Seikiwais ( 12 Kms trek).
Day 4: Tarsar Lake – Sundersar ( 11 Kms trek).
Day 5: Sundersar – Sonamous via Marsar ( 12 Kms trek).
Day 6: Sonamous to Sumbal Village. ( 15 Kms trek) – Srinagar ( 30 Kms drive).

Day 1

Srinagar to Aru Valley ( 112 Kms drive).

 

 

Day 2

Aru Valley to Lidderwat ( 11 Kms trek ).

 

 

Day 3

Lidderwat Valley to Tarsar via Seikiwais ( 12 Kms trek).

 

 

Day 4

Tarsar Lake – Sundersar ( 11 Kms trek).

 

 

Day 5

Sundersar – Sonamous via Marsar ( 12 Kms trek).

 

 

 

Day 6

Sonamous to Sumbal Village. ( 15 Kms trek) – Srinagar ( 30 Kms drive).

 

 

Day 7

Trek From Khati Village To Kharkia and Drive back to Kathgodam (10 Km, 5 Hrs)

 

After breakfast it’s the time to say goodbye to Khati Village and start the trek to Loharkhet via Dhakuri. We will have our lunch at Dhakuri with stunning views of Mt Maiktoli and then trek downwards to Loharkhet.
Today’s is just to reach road head where our Jeep will be waiting to drive us to Kathgodam with treasured memoriesof the Pindari Glacier Trek.
