Triund is one of the most popular yet easiest treks near McLeodganj in Himachal Pradesh. It’s approximately 7 km, and takes about 4 hours to reach the top of Triund hill. During the month of December, many first-time trekkers and college-goers visit Triund. Since it’s an easy trek, cold weather is not much of a deterrent for Triund trek in December.
Every trip to Triund provides you with a memorable experience. The magnificent Dhauladhar range forms the backdrop of this amazing trek. You also get views of the snow covered Kangra Valley. Please note that dense fog or mist in cold weather may make it difficult for you to get good views of the snow-capped mountains.
Most people prefer to start the trek from Gallu Devi temple, which gives amazing views of the Kareri Lake. From this point, the trek also gets steeper, and road conditions may test your stamina during cold winter months. However, it’s still important to consider some things about preparations.
