One of the easiest and most straightforward treks in Himachal Pradesh, a trek to Triund hill takes about 4 hours. It’s located around 7 km from the small town of McLeodganj. If you have too much time to spare in Dharamshala or McLeodganj, it’s always a good idea to plan this trek. You can even book a tent on reaching the top. There are a couple of small shops selling snacks and water. However, if you’re planning a Triund trek in June, you need to be careful of the rains.
Triund Trek in June
Since June sees a few showers, before the arrival of monsoon in full flow, it’s not advised to stay overnight in a tent. However, you can book a room in the Forest Guest House. These are basic rooms, and bookings can be made from the Forest Office in Dharamshala. Walking on muddy roads can be difficult. Therefore, you shouldn’t carry too many things on the trek apart from a light backpack, first aid, water bottles and a stick to avoid slippery ground.
The last stretch of the climb is pretty steep. However, once you reach the top, the effort will seem worth it. You will be able to see the Dhauladhar range is all its glory. The rains also make sure you get amazing views of the lush Kangra valley. Don’t forget to miss the aerial views of Dharamshala Cricket Stadium.
During rains or monsoon season, it’s highly recommended to plan the trek under guidance and supervision from experienced trekkers and support staff. They make sure you don’t experience any issues, and have a great time on your trek. If you’re looking to plan a Triund trek in June, get in touch with someone from our team. Just click here.
