Do’s:

  • Before departure, tell the entire schedule to a family member or a friend. This allows other people to provide help, if required, in case of an emergency.
  • Temperature can dip rapidly, and you should pack quite a few warm clothes.
  • During the trail, you may experience scarcity of water and food. Therefore, it’s important to carry sufficient supply.
  • It’s recommended to carry a first-aid kit and necessary medicines. Since the trek is demanding, cuts and bruises are quite common.

Don’ts:

  • Don’t carry plastic items, and don’t litter anywhere. It’s the responsibility of trekkers to keep the trail clean.
  • Don’t use shampoos and soaps in waterfalls. Locals use these sources to obtain drinking water.
  • Don’t disregard the guidelines and tips provided by the guide.
  • Don’t skip your meals.
  • Don’t take the weather report casually.

Since it’s a difficult trek, it’s highly recommended to consult professionals to plan this trek. For another Chadar trek blog and more information about the trek, click here.
