Nag Tibba trek provides you with an unparalleled and a beautiful view of the majestic Garhwal Himalayas. Over the years, it has become one of the most popular trekking routes in Uttarakhand. Though the increasing popularity could have led to commercialization, but the region hasn’t lost its solitude and charm. With a brief overview of Nag Tibba trek days, you’d have a clear idea about the wholesome experience on this short trek.

In fact, Nag Tibba is one of the most preferred destinations of nature lovers and trekking enthusiasts. Whether you’re looking to get respite from your busy city life, or need to feel closer to raw nature, Nag Tibba won’t disappoint. At 9,915 feet, this relatively easy trek is ideal for beginner and amateur trekkers.

The Experience

Named after Nag Devta, also called the Serpent God, Nag Tibba trek is frequented by locals in the lower Garhwal Himalayas. According to legend, the Serpent God protects local cattle from snake bites, and hence, Nag Tibba trekking starts from a small temple dedicated to Nag Devta. Nag Tibba forms part of the three lower Himalayan ranges, i.e., Pir Panjal, Dhauladhar and Nag Tibba. This scenic mountain range forms the watershed between the Yamuna and Ganges rivers in Uttarakhand.

In order to complete the trek, you can choose from four trekking routes. These are in Pantwari, Patharkhol, Shrikot and Devalsari. Pantwari is the most preferred choice, and you can complete the 7 km trek within a day. However, most trekkers prefer to camp overnight, and complete the journey within 2-3 days.
