The geography of Manali is such as that it is located about at a distance of 40 km from Kullu in the Indian state of Himachal Pradesh. The elevation ranges from 1800 m (5,900 ft.) to 2000 m ( 6,600 ft.) It has a complex and variable topography, with verdant valleys, forested hillsides, and streams. The Sutlez and Beas River cross through the grassy meadows and rocky terrain, Manali offers access to the Lahaul, Spiti and Kinnaur regions of Himachal Pradesh as well as the Leh and Zanskar regions of Jammu and Kashmir.
